Welcome to Oxford Area Historical
Association...online!
As we have stated
in ourgoals and objectives , we hope to preserve local history, and some of the
historic appearance of of the Oxford Area, before it is all
overrun by modern developments. To preserve, you must
first discover the history, educate and interest the public,
and provide a place for display. We have started out in
a small way to achieve this. The public has responded
with interest, financial support, and revelation of local
history and historic artifacts that haven't been out of the
attic for years. We greatly appreciate your support,
both historical and financial. We invite you to join our
association if not already a member, come to our programs, and
find out what life was like in the area 100, 200 or 300 years
ago. Remember, also, that last week is history to us
now. Items and events preserved now will be tomorrow's
history, and will seem nostalgic and quaint to us many years
in the future. People, and what they achieve can be
remarkable, mundane, hilarious, or sad. Come, help us record
and enjoy it.
